Reed Lookout - The Grampians
About a month before my birthday, my fiancée surprised me with the news that she had booked us a weekend away at The Grampians for my birthday. I knew this would be the perfect opportunity for me to try out astrophotography for the first time. In order to keep my ISO as low as possible, I hired a fast wide angle zoom. I choose the Nikon 14-24 f2.8 and using a metabones adaptor, I was able to use this lens in complete manual mode on my Sony A7ii. Thankfully the conditions were absolutely perfect! Haze was minimal, the almost new moon was well and truly set and there was not a cloud in the sky.
I honestly could not be more thrilled with the final image and I cannot wait to do it again!
